Butterflies are naturally beautiful, colourful and bring an instant smile to our faces. Moths are hidden beauties of the night and I decided I would like to capture them for just a short while so that I may capture their beauty permanently in an image.
This blog is a record of me starting out on this interesting little hobby of collecting and releasing moths to accumulate, hopefully, beautiful images.
My homemade moth trap is a plastic box, spray painted black on the inside and a whole cut into the lid. So far I have used a UV torch and a small LED light which I place in the bottom of the box with a bowl over the top. I have had some nice finds with this very basic set up.
